Searching for a New Scent...

My mother never wore perfume. And she was very sensitive to any scent. It always disappointed me that she didn't wear a fragrance. Throughout high school I wore very light scents-- so mother wouldn't complain. But once I got to college and began living on my own, I explored the wonderful world of fragrance. Designer perfumes- Chanel, Dior, Gucci. The perfumes are strong and I love it. One spritz can make me feel so feminine. It's amazing how a scent can make you feel more confident.

Now that I wear perfume on a daily basis, I feel naked when I forget to put it on. I believe that a lady should have 2 scents-- 1 bought in Spring and the other purchased in Fall. For Spring, I like florals. For Fall, I like a heavier, richer scent. And so I began my search the past month or so to find the perfect Fall scent. Last year for Fall I wore Gucci Guilty. And I love it... but of course, I'm always looking to try something new. I thought Chanel No. 5 was the lucky winner. That was before I explored J'adore Dior. I instantly fell in love with the scent. It is rich and musky. Everything I want in a fall scent. And without a doubt, it is the scent that no one- especially not a man- can forget. So today I purchased J'adore Dior from Nordstrom at Southpark. If you are having trouble finding a scent, I promise you will find one at Nordstrom. Their fragrance department is unbelievable.

I love the bottle! So classy and elegant.

This is the actual set that I ended up getting... Yes, sales associates LOVE me because I can be talked into anything! I love the box... it will be perfect for jewelry. The set includes a large bottle J'adore, a travel size, and milk lotion. It was hard to resist... Especially with the beautiful packaging + the bow.

My Weekend in Knoxville

I left the University of Tennessee in May of 2010. And I just couldn't bring myself to go back.... until now, that is. My friends decided that our reunion would be the LSU game this year. I was so excited to go back. And there are a few things I learned this weekend...

1. I have outgrown the college scene. Going to college bars and staying out until 3AM is just not for me. I definitely had my share of nights like this while I was at UT. And even though I'm still in school, I feel like I've outgrown that phase.

2. I have absolutely no regrets about leaving. I loved UT while I was there but I definitely do not miss it. And even though I love my sorority and it will always be a part of me, I am so thankful that I am now at a school that praises individuality. Maybe it's maturity, but I love being surrounded by people who know who they are and love themselves for it. Their identity has been molded by their own lives and not the influence of others. It is actually amazing to witness.

3. I CANNOT drink until 3AM and get up the next day at 9am to tailgate for a 3:30 game and then go out to the bars again that night.

4. My sister, Belle, made her best friends in college. And I envied the friendships she had made at UT. I have found that my best friends were made growing up in Polk County... in high school.

5. I realized just how much I miss Belle, Glover, and Anna!

Here are some pictures from the weekend...

My new Obsession...

So usually my newest obsession is a recent purchase or a new product that I am trying out... but my new obsession revolves around technology. No, it's not the IPad or the Iphone (even though I could never live without my Iphone). My new obsession is... PINTEREST! I am obsessed with this website. You can "pin" any image on the Internet and post it to your storyboards. So of course most of my boards are fashion related. If you haven't started pinning... check it out! You will LOVE it!

I'll Choose Boots over Heels Any Day!

This past Saturday was absolutely fabulous. I attended Oktoberfest with friends. It was a perfect day to be outside drinking beer. The weather was wonderful. And I finally got to break out my Frye boots for the season. I've been wanting to wear boots since I had to stop for Spring. While Frye boots are expensive, they are definitely worth the money. They are truly amazing.  With a cute top, jeans, and boots... a girl can never go wrong!

My Newest Purchase...

... the LOUIS VUITTON WESTMINSTER bag in DAMIER EBENE CANVAS. I am in loooooooove. Oh, so in love. Why would I ever need a guy when I can have purses and shoes and jewelry... And while most would see the words LV and think- oh how spoiled... I can justify this purchase. I work-- sometimes I feel way too much and I go to school. I've been saving up for something big. Also, I received my grades for last quarter.... sooooo impressed. So I decided to give myself a reward for doing so well in school. There is nothing wrong with that... I'm just trying to keep the economy going.

MY BEAUTIFUL BABY...

A Fall Saturday

I can't say that it was the PERFECT fall day... In my mind, a perfect fall saturday is watching the Vols play in Neyland Stadium. However, that day will be here in 2 weeks! Oh, how I miss my UT football. Saturday was my mother's birthday. Out of respect, I will not include her age :P Actually, I don't even know how old she is... I guess that is to her advantage. She treated herself to a little mani/pedi and then we headed up to Brights Creek golf course for a family dinner-- including everyone but Belle, who has decided to stay in DC. It looks like she isn't ever coming home :( Besides missing her, the family had a fabulous time together. We had cocktails, delicious food, and a breathtaking view from our private dining room. I really hope Mother had a wonderful Birthday.

.... I love any occasion that gives me an excuse to dress up. Birthdays, Weddings, Holidays. I just love dresses. Don't get me wrong... I love my jeans and a t-shirt-- paired with boots and I'm ready to go. That's part of the South that won't ever leave me. But dresses are just so much more feminine and fun. I especially love fall dresses because my arms are not my best feature.

I am Wearing...
Shoshanna L/S Dress from Three Sister's Boutique (Spartanburg, SC)
JCrew blue overcoat
Cole Haan Nude Pumps
Kate Spade Chocolate Stevie

I love the back of the dress.... The Deep V is so flattering!
