Wood You Buy This?

My friend Jordan introduced me to WeWood watches this month. He had just bought one from Neiman Marcus. It was love at first sight. The next morning, I headed straight to Neiman's to buy one for myself. Jordan is always so trendy and stylish. Even though he is a guy, I want a lot of what he has. So now we call ourselves twinsies. I really do think at times, he's my other half-- the better half :) Jordan has the dark brown watch and I have the light sand colored one. WeWood works kinda like the way Tom's do-- for every watch you buy, WeWood plants a tree. I love spending money knowing that I'm getting an amazing product but yet also helping the environment...

... So now that I am in this "wooden craze," I found a company that makes sunglasses out of wood! Obviously the lens aren't wood, but the frames are. And I have my heart set on a pair. How hipster would I be with my wooden watch AND wooden sunglasses. I think they would be perfect for summer and being outdoors. And the best part-- the glasses are under $100. I don't think Jordan realized what kinda craze he was starting when I saw his wooden watch.

Valentine's Day is Almost Here!

It is a tradition for my parents to buy my sisters and me presents on Valentine's Day. When we were younger is was always a huge stuffed animal with candy treats and a shirt or some other article of clothing. Lately, mom has been giving us either gift cards or lingerie from Victoria's Secret. But since I am a shopaholic and have gathered quite a collection of lingerie, I have asked mom to go in a different direction. I haven't quite convinced my parents for the David Yurman ring yet (the one I'm dying for!) or the Burberry handbag. Or the Giuseppe Zanotti Pumps.

So I found a gift in the $200 price range... Hint: The items are made by my favorite dress designer. That's right, Shoshanna! And surprisingly it wasn't another dress. I bought one of her new bathing suits for the season. I love it! Now if only I can get some weight off, I will look super amazing wearing it on the beach. The family hasn't taken a beach vacation in 3 summers but we are going to the Outerbanks this June. (Not my pick-- I mean really, WHAT is at the Outerbanks...) So that was a major factor in my present decision making. Oh, how I love my new bathing suit... even though I haven't seen it yet. I just got my shipping confirmation as I was typing :)

Can I ask mom + dad for this body, too? Just a few minor surgeries!

So what is everyone getting for Valentine's Day. Don't settle for a box of chocolates and balloons. Tell your guy (or parents, in my case) to get you something fabulous because you deserve it!

January: Item of the Month

I honestly have the best boss any girl could ask for. Well technically she isn't my boss anymore, because I only work for her when needed. Now she is a friend, a mentor, and someone I look up to. She has the best sense of style-- and I owe many of my outfit ideas to her. She has inspired the inner fashionista in me and is always supportive of what I choose to do. We have similar tastes and we are always calling each other when Tory Burch releases new shoes or to get approval from one another on a recent purchase. Yes, our phone calls are all about fashion and I love it. I love being able to call my boss up to tell her about this fabulous pair of flats I found.... She is also the one who got me to start wearing Laura Mercier. We are a lot alike and I am so thankful she is in my life. Jennifer Clark is the buyer and manager for Three Sister's Boutique in Spartanburg, SC. She knows style and she knows what looks good. So if you ever need to dress for a certain occasion, please go visit her...

... Every year we get each other very nice Christmas gifts. She has given me Nanette Lepore and Shoshanna and I have given her Kate Spade and Hunter boots. We exchanged gifts this year... I gave her a Kate Spade Bangle she had been wanting... and she gave me a pair of Tom's that we had seen together. And I am in love! (I use that phrase a lot but I usually mean it). I wear them now but they are perfect for transitioning into spring, as well. Who doesn't love a great pair of Tom's. But Jen and I have to have a certain flair. We like them to be stylish- usually in a pattern or print. The solid Tom's are just too dull for fashionista's like ourselves :)

This Weeks Purchases

I hope my posting of purchases doesn't come across as gloating. Whenever I buy something I just get THAT excited about it... And I MUST share. Because what's the fun in buying if others can't see it, too! Even though I am trying to cut back on my purchases, I had already ordered 3 dresses from Three Sister's Boutique. I can never just order ONE Shoshanna dress. It's impossible to do. The patterns and styles are just too fabulous to pass up. So I had to go pick up those dresses and of course Three Sister's had EVEN more merchandise that I instantly fell in love with. I honestly wanted to take the whole store home with me but I doubt Jennifer (my manager) nor my mother would be happy about that! So I walked out with 3 Shoshanna Dresses + 1 Nanette Lepore. Perfect for my friend's wedding festivities that begin this month!

Aren't the dresses so fabulous? Also this week, Patagonia released it's new winter colors in their fleece pullovers. I have seriously been waiting for this release since November-- around the time that I became bored with the Fall Collection colors. So I waited very impatiently. I knew it would be in January but I'm thinking they released the colors one week later this year. Like I knew I would, I wanted EVERY color released. Patagonia came out with a mint green, a coral, a purple with grey undertones, and a few others that I wasn't as impressed with. I wanted ALL of them but knew mom would only allow me to buy 1. So I chose the Dragon Fruit (aka the coral). I cannot wait for it to come in... I feel like all I wear these days are a Patagonia Fleece, Skinny Jeans, and Ugg Slippers or Toms.

I love it! The Dragon Fruit will look so good against my skin and with my dark hair!

I am very excited about this weeks purchases! I know I can't buy 4 dresses every week so it's even more of a reason to be excited about it and want to share!

It Feels like Springtime... in January!?

It is the end of January. We are wrapping up the first month of the year and moving on to the month of love. Both months are in the dead of winter. And usually winter brings beautifully white snow, obnoxious sleet, glistening ice, and cruel temperatures! However, today felt like... Springtime? All of my warmer weather apparel is packed away. So I had to shop my closet to put a weather appropriate outfit together. And I am very pleased with the end result.

I went light on the layers... Temp was around 60 Today!

Trend: Nautical

The South hasn't had any snow this year and the weather lately has been unusually warm for winter! So, of course, that means Spring is on our minds. While looking through WWD and fashion websites, I have repeatedly seen that Nautical is a trend for this Spring Season. And since I love all things Navy, I am not opposed to this trend at all.
